Use the Bulk Import feature to quickly upload a list of client records into Shrlock. This is ideal for onboarding multiple clients at once and helps you get organized faster.
Why it matters
Bulk importing saves time and ensures all your client details are consistently added to your account, setting you up for smoother project and billing workflows.
Steps to bulk import clients
1. Open the Bulk Import modal
Go to the Clients tab.
Click the Bulk Import button.
This opens a modal with instructions and tools to upload your client list.
2. Download and open the CSV template
In the modal, click the link to Download CSV Template.
Save the file to your computer.
For Windows users:
Double-click the downloaded CSV file to open it in Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet program.
For Mac users:
Open the file using Numbers, Google Sheets, or another spreadsheet app.
You may need to import the CSV file into some tools.
Tip: If your spreadsheet app prompts you to select a delimiter or format, choose Comma-Separated Values (.csv).
3. Fill in your client details
Enter the following details for each client:
Company Name
Contact Name
Contact Email
Contact Phone
Ensure each column is filled correctly and that there are no extra spaces or formatting issues.
4. Upload your completed file
Once your CSV file is ready:
Return to the Bulk Import modal.
Drag and drop your CSV file into the upload box, or click the box to browse and select your file from your device.
After the upload completes, all valid client records will be added to your Clients tab.
Note: If any rows contain formatting issues or missing required fields, they may not import. Double-check the file and try again if needed.
