Tasks help you break down client work into manageable steps and ensure accurate tracking and billing. Use the Task tab or other quick-access tools to add tasks to your projects.
Why it matters
Creating tasks keeps your work organized and billable time well-documented. This improves team accountability, client transparency, and invoicing accuracy.
How to create a new task
1. Open the New Task sidebar
You can access the New Task sidebar in several ways:
Navigate to the Task Tab and select New Task
Click the New Task button from the Dashboard
Click the Time Tracking icon in the upper-left corner and select New Task
Open a Client or Project Profile, then click Add Task
2. Fill in task details
In the New Task sidebar:
Enter a Title for the task
Assign the task to a Project
Set the Status:
To-Do: Not started
In-Progress: Currently being worked on
Done: Completed
Select whether the task is Billable:
If unchecked, time tracked for this task will not be included in invoicing
Choose a Due Date (optional)
3. Add task description
Use the Description field to provide task details. You can:
Add headers
Create bullet or numbered lists
Include checkboxes
Insert links
This helps standardize your work and clarify expectations.
4. Save the task
Click Add Task at the bottom of the sidebar. Your task will now appear in the Task tab and be available for time tracking.
