Managing Task Statuses

Task statuses help you track progress and stay organized. You can easily update a task's status from multiple views, depending on how you prefer to work.

Why it matters

Updating task statuses keeps your team aligned and ensures accurate reporting on progress. It also supports better visibility for billing and project timelines.

Task statuses overview

Each task can have one of three statuses:

  • To Do: The task is planned but not yet started

  • In Progress: Work is actively underway

  • Done: The task is completed

How to manage task statuses

Kanban View

  1. Go to the Tasks tab and select Kanban View.

  2. Click and hold the task card you want to update.

  3. Drag the task to the correct column: To Do, In Progress, or Done.

The task status will update automatically based on the column you move it to.

List View

  1. In the Tasks tab, switch to List View.

  2. Find the task you want to update.

  3. On the right-hand side, click the Status drop-down menu.

  4. Select the new status: To Do, In Progress, or Done.

Task Detail View

  1. Open the task by clicking directly on the task card in Kanban View or on the Task Row in the List View.

  2. In the upper-right corner of the Task Detail Side Bar, click the Status drop-down menu to view the status options.

  3. Select the new status.

The change will be saved immediately and reflected across all views.

Tip: Use the Kanban View for visual task planning, List View for quick bulk updates, and Task Detail View for reviewing and adjusting individual task details.
