Connecting Your Stripe Account

Review the steps for connecting your Stripe account to Shrlock

Updated over 6 months ago

Connecting your Stripe account allows you to send invoices and accept payments directly through Shrlock. This ensures fast, secure, and professional billing for your clients.

Why it matters

Using Stripe for payments helps:

  • Streamline your billing process

  • Offer clients a professional and secure way to pay

  • Get paid faster with automated payouts

Step 1: Start the connection process

  1. Navigate to the Invoices or Payments tab.

  2. A modal will appear prompting you to Get Started with Stripe.

    • If you are not ready, you can dismiss the modal and continue using invoice tools to send invoices off-platform.

    • To hide the modal permanently, click Don't Show Again.

  3. When ready, click Get Started to launch the Stripe onboarding flow.

Step 2: Complete Stripe onboarding

You will be redirected to Stripe’s secure onboarding process.

Confirm your account

  • Enter your business email and create a password

  • Set up two-factor authentication for added security

Provide business details

  • Select your business location and entity type

    • If you select Individual, proceed directly

    • If you select Company, provide additional details about your structure

Verify identity and business info

  • For Individuals: Provide your name, date of birth, address, phone number, and last 4 digits of SSN

  • For Companies: Provide legal business name, EIN, business address, and industry

Note: Stripe approval may take a few days, depending on your business structure and documents.

Step 3: Set up payouts

Connect your bank

  • Choose your bank and follow Stripe’s instructions to connect your account

Choose payout schedule

  • We recommend automatic daily payouts for faster client payment processing

Set your payout descriptor

  • Enter a descriptor name your clients will see on their statements (usually your business name)

Step 4: Review and submit

  • Double-check all details

  • Add any missing information

  • Click Submit to complete the application

You will be redirected back to Shrlock where your Stripe setup will show as Pending.

Approval typically takes 1–3 business days.

Tip: If you need to send an invoice right away, download it as a PDF and send it manually for off-platform payment until Stripe is approved.
