Creating a New Event Type in Shrlock

Set up custom event types in Shrlock to streamline how clients book time with you. Whether you offer video calls, in-person meetings, or phone consultations, configuring clear event types helps you stay organized and avoid scheduling conflicts.

Steps to create a new event type

1. Go to the Scheduling events tab

  • After connecting your calendar, click the Events tab within the Scheduling feature.

  • You will see a list of all your upcoming events.

2. Click New Event Type

  • On the right-hand side, click the purple New Event Type button.

  • This will start the event type creation flow.

3. Enter event type details

  • Unique Name: Enter a name that clearly identifies this event type.

  • Type of Event: Choose one of the following:

    • Video Conferencing

    • In-Person

    • Phone Call

  • Event Duration: Select how long the meeting will last.

  • Calendar: Choose the calendar this event type will sync with.

  • Conferencing Service: Select which video tool or conference call method to use.

  • Event Description: Enter a short explanation of the meeting. This will appear on the client booking page.

Click Continue when you have filled in the details.

4. Set your availability

  • Define when you are available for this type of event.

  • Choose which connected calendars Shrlock should check to prevent double bookings.

Click Continue to move forward.

5. Configure advanced settings

In the Advanced Settings section, you can:

  • Set how far in advance invitees can book

  • Control the minimum notice before a booking

  • Add buffer time between appointments

  • Include custom questions for invitees

  • Enable auto-reminders for attendees

Click Continue once these settings are configured.

6. Share your event type

  • Your new event type is now created and ready to use.

  • You will receive a unique booking link to share with clients.

Tip: Creating specific event types for each service you offer helps you maintain control over your time and deliver a smoother booking experience.
