Create projects faster using your project templates

Goal: Quickly set up a new client project using a pre-built template to save time and maintain consistency.

Using project templates reduces setup time and ensures that standard tasks are included correctly and on schedule, making them ideal for recurring or similar client engagements.

Steps to create a new project from a template

1. Start a new project

  1. From the main navigation bar, click Projects.

  2. On the My Projects tab, click New Project.

2. Enter project details

  1. In the project wizard, complete the following:

    • Project Name: Enter a clear, descriptive name.

    • Client: Choose the client this project is for.

    • Start Date: Select when the project should begin.

    • End Date (optional): Add an end date if applicable.

3. Select a project template

  1. Use the Project Template drop-down to choose from your saved templates.

  2. Click Next.

    Note: The template will automatically fill in the billing type and tasks associated with it.

4. Review and customize tasks

  1. On the task selection screen, you will see all tasks included in the chosen template.

  2. Select either:

    • All Tasks: Include every task from the template, or

    • Specific Tasks: Only check the tasks relevant to this project.

5. Set the billable rate

  1. Enter the billable rate to be applied for this project’s tasks.

    Tip: This step ensures correct invoicing and helps track project profitability.

6. Finalize the project

  1. Click Add Project.

Your new project will be created, and all selected tasks will be added based on the project start date, with time delays automatically scheduled.
