Shrlock's time-tracking tools help HR consultants accurately log every billable minute. Whether you are working on a task or jumping between client projects, our flexible timer options keep you on track.
Why it matters
Accurate time tracking ensures:
Clear visibility into client work
Reliable billing and invoicing
Proper time management across multiple projects
Methods for tracking time
You can start tracking time using three methods. All time entries must be linked to a task to ensure accurate billing.
1. Using the Global Time Tracker
In the upper right-hand corner, click the Start Timer button next to your profile image.
The Start New Timer dropdown appears.
Choose the task to track time against:
Filter by Client and Project, then select a Task,
Or search directly using the Task dropdown.
Click the purple Start button to begin tracking. The timer will now run visibly at the top of your screen.
Note: You must select a task before starting a timer. If the task does not yet exist, click the + icon to create a new task and then start the timer.
2. From the Task Tab
Go to the Task tab.
Locate the task you are working on.
Click the Timer icon directly on the task entry.
This will immediately begin tracking time for that task without needing to use the global timer dropdown.
3. From the Time Tracking Tab
Go to the Time Tracking tab.
Click to open the Timer modal.
Select a task to associate with the new time entry.
Press Start Timer. The time will begin running, and a new entry appears in the table view.
Pausing and saving a timer
While tracking time:
The Global Timer icon becomes a Pause button showing total time tracked.
To pause, click the active timer icon, then click Pause.
You can resume tracking time or click Save to end the session.
Once a time entry is saved, the next timer start will create a new entry for that task.
Editing time entries
All saved time entries can be modified later using the Time Entry edit feature in the Time Tracking tab. Click here to learn how to edit time entries.
